Mouth odour is very stressful brethrens. II have lost confidence in myself. When talking to people, I should make sure I keep a distance to avoid friends looking the other way round or covering their nosetrills. The most emberancing moment is when my own child aged 4 told me that dad your mouth stuns. I was so ashamed that I started swallowing mouth wash so as to kill the smell but to no avail. The most devasting thing is i can't kiss 💋 my wife unless I use chocolates to neutralize the smell. When I went to the hospital I was diagnosed with excessive uric acids. I was put on drugs but nothing happened. But of recent a friend introduced me to drinking lemon water first thing in the morning before eating any food. It's really working wonders. The mouth odour is slowly deminishing. I just hope one day God will heal me from this shameful sickness.

I'm getting emotional by reading the comments one by one. I realized that I am not alone. There are many of us who's suffering from this, there are also like me who missed a lot of opportunities in life, depressed, isolation, and worst is there are also like me who experienced this at young age. ☹️ I always cry, when I am alone, at night and when I see people age like me who is enjoying their lives. Sometimes I get angry a little bit of my Mom. When I was young, she would never remind me that brushing teeth is important, she would let me eat whatever I want, I remember when I was like 10 I was talking to her and she just covered her nose 😭 like what do I know that time? That having this disease would end me in every inch of my life. She would just care if I got a high score from school. But there's nothing I could do now. When I was 14, my sister makes fun of me having badbreath. She even told her boyfriend that my breath stinks and she laughs. My dad went home from abroad and he's the only one who said that I should brush my teeth and tongue and eat a lot of vegetables, but it was too late. Now I'm so fucked up. Sometimes I question myself 'whats the point of my existence' -- maybe to boost other peopleS confident???? --

Bad breath is just awful, especially when you try everything to no avail. It just breaks you to pieces when your talking to someone and their covering their nose. I end up bawling my eyes out when I have time to myself as I can't cope with this any more 😭 please God give me a permanent solution 🙏

We are in the same feeling. The best advice I've ever heard is to get rid of the cause. whether you already know it or not. So, go to the dentist, if he says everything is normal then go to an ENT doctor. If he says the same thing, then go to an internal medicine doctor. The last possibility is that it comes from inside your stomach, because mine is because of that.

Definitely halitosis is a unique problem. The guy suffering from it is perhaps the most orally hygienic person when compared to many. So the persistent problem is not really oral. I saw many people who have worse oral hygiene, rotting teeth. drink, smoke, anything opposite to what the wise doctors will say, but still their breath smell as fresh as a baby.

I just want to share my story...

I used to have bad breath too. Lasted for almost 30 years. It started when I was in high school (maybe earlier) with oral bad breath only. Through the years, it got worse and I developed nasal bb. People would smell my breath even when I wasn't talking.

It is one of the most embarrasing and humiliating period of my life especially when I started working. People could be rude and mean. Some made me aware they know my breath stinks.

I tried literally everything to get rid of it:
Therabreath toothpaste and mouthwash and other regular mouthwashes
Baking soda
Antibiotics (Flagyl, clarithromycin, amoxicillin clav, Rifaximin)
Antifungal (Flucanozole)
Oral and gut probiotics
Liquid chlorophyll

I have seen a lotttt of doctors from at least three countries I've worked in:
Dentist
ENT
Gastroentrologist
Endocrinologist

I have done a lot of tests:
Barium swallow
Abdominal ultrasound
Endoscopy
Paranasal CT scan
Hundreds of urine and blood tests

All normal results...

I also had two (healthy) wisdom teeth removed...

I even went to a halitosis specialist/clinic and spent 3K USD...

I avoided sugar, dairy and gluten for 6 months...

Nasal bb went away but oral bb is still present.

Then, I decided to have my tonsils removed. I was hesitant at first because of the recovery process and I wasn't even sure if it would work. But I was desperate and I feel like I have nothing to lose. I owe it to myself because what if?

After all, it's the only thing I haven't done. So, I had a tonsillectomy. Long story short, I am now cured and I promise to share this story to those who like me, have tried everything and nothing worked. It could be your tonsils.

I also now have the pinkiest tongue ever, after the tonsillectomy.

Disclaimer, I don't get tonsil stones that often, maybe once a month, but everytime I would poke my right tonsil really hard and far, my finger would smell really bad even when there are no stones. Left tonsil is okay, no smell.

Also, recovery isn't that bad. I recovered in two weeks, but felt the worst pains on Days 6-8 only. Other days are bearable and manageable as long as you take your pain meds.

AND

You will have the worst breath during the recovery period because of the scabs and mucus and because your throat is healing, but IT IS NORMAL.

I hope this comment helps some people who are experiencing the same.

My brother had bad breath for years. He stopped eating meat, dairy, and gluten and the problem went away after about 30days of eating that way. He also ate at the same times everyday. No drinking or smoking as well. If it’s not due to poor oral hygiene. It’s likely due to gut issues. If you’re not persistent about cleaning your gut and not going back to those foods that caused the problem in the first place, you won’t be healed. Everybody can’t eat everything everyone else does. You have to learn to accept that and go with the flow. It’s better than isolation and embarrassment. Side note: I forgot to mention my brother had a lapse after the 30days he thought he was good and went back to his old ways only for the bad breath to return. He quickly went back to raw vegan and the problem subsided again. Stick with RAW veggies and fruits. It saved him from a life of shame.

I don't know if my words are understood or not because I use the translation program... A short time ago I found a recipe (eat 10 pieces of dried figs on an empty stomach in the morning for forty days). I did this experiment and noticed after that that the smell of my mouth disappeared even if I didn't eat, but now this smell has returned despite the fact that I do not suffer from pain in the stomach, gums or respiratory system and I brush my teeth and tongue regularly, but I know that this smell comes from my stomach. I am writing this and I am really crying because I have been exposed to embarrassing situations from the people closest to me and they try to stay away from me as if I am happy that my mouth emits this smell and not as if I am forced to do this. I am tired and I always think about this matter. I always pray to get rid of it and I hope that God will heal all people like me. Some may think it is a normal topic, but it is really a very difficult matter for you to be offended just because your mouth emits an odor.

I lost a great gf due to this bullshit. I can’t live like this anymore. Sometimes I think if someone just killed me, it would save me pain. Why do us people have to suffer like this.

I have a serious bad breath problem. Mine smells very bad and takes over the entire room or house. People avoid me because of this nightmare. My bad breath is not only from my mouth but my nose also. I have visited several dental clinics and had encounter and treatment plans with so many dentists but still there's no solution. It's very embarrassing and painful to see yourself being mocked and humiliated by people. I have lost all my savings to this predicament. My friends and girl friend abandon me. I have also lost my job. I cry every day hoping there's a cure. Sometimes I feel worthless and empty. There is nothing to live for again. it's so unbearable!

Having bad breath is actually a good gift. You stay away from unnecessary gossips, you don’t hurt others by saying something stupid because you are mindful of the bad breath and you choose to remain silent.

Brush your teeth with coconut oil and gargle and move it around in your mouth. Spit it out and brush your teeth normally with your toothpaste and use hydrogen peroxide 3% as your mouth wash and gargle with it. Spit it out and and rinse with water. Your breath and mouth will be fresh all day and even when you wake up the next morning. I do this everyday. The coconut oil and hydrogen peroxide also helps with whitening!
