This August, I ran Sweden's biggest ultramarathon, Ultravasan 90, which is part of the Vasaloppet race series. Endless Swedish forests. Stunning sunrises. Beautiful trails. This was an absolutely stunning trail running race.

90 kms? No sweat!...I'd look seriously messed up after that effort. You look fresh as after those 90 kms. Impressive!

Bra sprunget! Man vill bara knyta på sig skorna och bege sig ut i skogen när man ser dina videor. Vilken inspiration!

Youtube recommended your video, it looked nice so I went to compare our splits. Turns out I was consistently (perhaps because I didn't start in the back) a couple of minutes in front of you but in the end you crossed the finish line only 17 seconds before me, I am the one in the shirt with the "Ed ir bar painut" (it is only gruesome, sort of, local minority language in some area of that part of Sweden) in front of you at 36:43. Good job!

Well done! Oh man, some of those trails looked so nice. I haven't had a single decent trail run this year, and I really miss it.

I think only ultra runners say "only a couple more hours of running left" 😂

Lovely effort, mate! Sub-10 hours is a strong showing.

Can recommend the Fjällmaraton 100k, which takes place around Åre. It's another iconic trail ultra in Sweden, and part of a whole week's worth of races. Fantastic locales, and even more scenic views. Plus, it's not quite as crowded.

That is, if you're scoping for 2025 adventures in the Nordics. There's a whole international crew that'll be going on this end. 😉

Well done James and welcome to Sweden! Really nice to get a feeling what the Ultravasan looks like. So I guess I have to check this one off the list in the near future! Nice Video!

In case someone is curious. The sign over the finish line says "I föders spår, för framtids segrar" ie "In the trail of our fathers, for future victories". It's a very famous sign. Unfortunately not the original one from 1923, it was lost in a fire.

Congrats on the performance, and a great film. captured the experience well. and yes, although its net downhill there is still a lot of "hidden vert" on that classic trail.

Great effort! I am running myself on local technical trails in Finland, and I really recognised what you said about them during the race. Hard on the body, but you can maintain a decent pace if you want to. I have fallen a few times though, and the goal is to aim away from rocks and find something green or flat. Especially when you get tired it is easy to get your shoe caught. It sometimes feels easier to go faster than slower on these trails, but it increases the risk of injury severity when you stumble.

Well done! Can I ask, the music that was playing in the background, in the last 5 or so minutes, what was it? It was beautiful!
