The Yangwang U9 is an all-electric super-coupe produced by BYD Auto under its luxury sub-brand, Yangwang. As the second release from the Yangwang lineup, following the U8 off-road SUV, the U9 showcases the brand’s commitment to high-performance luxury electric vehicles. This supercar is designed to deliver both thrilling speed and innovative technology, positioning itself as a major competitor in the electric luxury car market.
In terms of performance, the 2024 Yangwang U9 is powered by four electric motors—one on each wheel—generating an astounding 1,287 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque. This setup allows the U9 to achieve lightning-fast acceleration, going from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.36 seconds. The vehicle also boasts a top speed of 309.19 km/h, making it one of the fastest electric supercars in the world. With a range of 450 km (280 mi) on the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC), it offers a balance between performance and practicality, while fast-charging capabilities allow for an 80% recharge in just 20 minutes.
The U9’s luxurious design extends to both its interior and exterior. It features 22-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and a cutting-edge aerodynamic package with 12 active and passive components. Inside the supercar, drivers are treated to a double-bubble dashboard, 127-color ambient lighting, and a 10.25-inch mini-LED digital instrument display. The cabin is crafted from super carbon fiber, and passengers can enjoy a high-end audio experience with the Dynaudio Evidence Series sound system.
