Join me on a drive through the Northern Rivers region of NSW, from the tourist town of Byron Bay to the city of Coffs Harbour! We'll be driving along the Pacific Motorway, much of which has only very recently opened under the Woolgoolga to Ballina project. Along the way, we bypass the major towns of Ballina and Grafton.

One of the best road trip videos I have ever seen. Seriously impressive.

the next major upgrades to the motorway which will make a big difference are the coffs harbour bypass and the raymond terrace extension

mate, you truly enjoy driving, I love driving too, especially on scenic and beautiful highways. I have not driving this far up north before, hopefully one day :) The quality of your 4K video is stunningly beautiful! Excellent, big like 62

The upgrade happened decades later than it should have but it's now spectacular. The only three things I love to see between Coffs and Tweed:
1) Improve the road from the highway to Yamba
2) Better access to Grafton this town kind of got shafted to virtual inland status (I love inland towns)
3) The Ballina exit (Prawn side) is a bottleneck due to the Service Centre and the link from Ballina to Lismore (same issue with the Port Macquarie/Wauchope exit with the Service Centre & the link between the two towns)

Such a good drive now not having to go through Maclean and Woodburn. Those places had the worst local traffic.

Awesome scenic drive! I’ve only been on the M1 along the North Coast a few times, and have never really thought much about it. Next time I happen to go along it, I’ll be sure to appreciate it more!

Loved to watch this great road mate. It looks clean now as no roadwork is going as compared to 2020. Keep going!

Neat video. I really like the clear (I'm assuming acrylic) sound barriers that seem fairly common in Australia. They are aesthetically pleasing in my opinion.

Done most of the A1 Pacific Highway/M1 Pacific Motorway by coach at night in both directions - I don't remember most of the A1/M1 on the most recent trip because I was buggered and slept for most of it.... I do remember the tight twisty stuff on the back roads of the region though and places like Mooball (a very weird name for a place that only has a café/roadhouse!)

It sounds like your Pacific hwy is In a similar state as the Trans Canada Hwy. The long term plan to get it all up to a dual-carriageway / motorway standard sounds very familiar. It's a slow going process but it's always exciting to see a new upgraded section. 😃

Wonderful place! It's very nice to drive in such a wide with no traffic road. New friend connected and join you here.

Great job!!! I've watched every video of your channel.
Would like to see a road trip to Airlie Beach or even all the way up to Cairns, in northern Queensland

Nice video, I've only done the new sections once since they opened in the middle of COVID, going the other way. I am a bit mystified by the M1/A1 thingy too. I remember in early documents the section from around Chatsworth island to Woodburn bypass was marked to be upgraded and signed as A1 status, but it got signed as M.
