This volume is literally crazy. Imagine the agony Horikita and Chabashira will have when Ayanokoji just moment after completing his promise goes to the class tailing just behind them to put up a huge fight.

I don't know but Horikita seems to me like a person with potential greater than everyone so far featured in the school and would graduate from as Class A realising it. What if Horikita is the absolute shock to the elite of Japanese politics screwing their plans. I think Ayanokoji will not graduate from as Class A.

This is ultimately the best development of ichinose so far in this series, she literally went from someone that's easy to manipulate to someone who literally resisted koji's manipulation. In a sense of utilizing her love as a strength to ensure how much of progress she took out of that narrative, and it's a shame that a lot of people here focuses on the naught naughty scene rather than the insane development it got. Koji acknowledges her strength so badly that he even mentions how great her potential is and how it'd surpass horikita and ryuen if her mental fortitude wasn't such a problem (which isn't the case anymore)

-For anyone interested what actually happened in the promise night, heres my analysis over such scenario.

The fact that ayanokoji expected the 2nd option which was Ichinose hating him, but wished for another option which is the 3rd. he based it on 1% as he couldn't picture or view what it would be; considering what his plans and motivations were to improve Ichinose in the sense of using hatred as a motivation (not realizing ichinose is aware of his intentions)

With this information out of the way, we can base what the information implies on each of their perspectives.

In koji's case or perspective
-Koji was always rational with his thoughts and monologues, as you've read the Promise Night tl. (how much he yapped about the possibilities and narratives)
-The motive of making Ichinose stronger by using hate as a motivation drive for her on the 2nd option, as what he originally expected but hopes for an unpredictable outcome.
-considers a 3rd option as a possibility, but based it as 1% because he couldn't imagine or picture out the rationality of the scenario.
-He expected Ichinose to be depressed, crying, and swollen = sad in the sense that she'll be showing yet again a sign of weak mental fortitude. (but so far it was revealed she was practically okay in expressions)

In Ichinose's case or perspective

-Ichinose devised a plan to trap him, (Planned the schedule and setting)
-Ichinose refusing ayanokoji's conditions and offers, which proves that she's resisting manipulations such as the 2nd choices.
-Ichinose was already aware of Koji's motives for trying to make her hate him as the intention, thus answers why she still loves him because she's aware of his intentions.
-Ichinose as mentioned practically decieved what koji was expecting her to be, in her given state. She wasn't crying, depressed or swollen in the face (implies shes a strong character)
-Ichinose practically deduced how toxic the kiyokei relationship and called him out for his bullshit of a method, which is koji's method of destroying someone and shaping them a new.
-Ichinose made koji allured with her charm, whether it being unintentionally or intentionally is up to your interpretation.
In short, doesn't this just mean that koji couldn't anticipate ichinose's love for him..?

this is peak development, we have arisu getting expelled cuz she utilized love as a weakness..by any means.. while honami utilized her love as a strength to have her move forward.

welp, I cerntainly expected some similar things but all of this in 1 volume is unexpected. With all these thing beeing kickstarted right now I'm just left to wonder, how this is gonna play out given the sheer amount of volumes left for year 3. Typically it feels like there would be some midway point like both volume 7s were some of the conflicts get there resolution so one plot thread doesn't get to extended. If they are going for a positive kind of ending it feels like Kiyo himself will have a developement that makes him leave on his own eventually since so far a normal defeat doesn't feel quite possible or an allout offensive beyond only there year with everyone involved. Would be cliche but with the character Kiyo is becoming the promoter of growth, it would be very fitting for him to bring all classes to the same score cause the explained bonus exam in case of ties and drop out so he doesn't have to direct of an influence on the future of the people who have reached their maximum potentiall.

To be honest i expected more like a new feat, a plot twist with atsuomi arrival or ichinose development for ayanokoji manipulation. The development is not bad but koji having s*x with ichinose is wild
