Network Admin Life - Stacking Issue Pt 1

In this week's video I begin troubleshooting an issue on our switches were the stacking cables are not communicating correctly.

Always have cabelers lable the pannels and jacks as room#-drop#. Its so so so beneficial to be able to just look at the patch pannels and see where all the wiring goes.

Oh my man i think i found my channel for my last year in school. PLEASE whenever possible post what its like running your network. I am trying to get into network management and the like. Im completely online and after a year ive found it incredibly challenging to get some real experience or just shadowing on my hands. This is quite candid and just "normal video"

One thing I like about the Dell PowerConnect 2000 series switches is that their stacking cables aren't special. They're regular DAC cables used for storage gear. Love how Dell able to make use of existing stuffs without some weird cabling to make them work. So I have bunch of those cables as spares.

I have been working as a network admin in the military for one year now. I have experience switching routing, configuring firewalls, Encryption hardware and modems. I am currently working on my ccna. In your opinion, if you could pin point exactly what employers are looking for what would it be? I hope you are a having a blessed night or day aswell.

Hey Network Admin. I would probably call Extreme TAC and fine out what is the hardware health command (Testing commands) for the network card. Just like any pc you can test the sound card or graphics card so see which card is giving you an issue. Vendors usually have hardware commands for testing hardware issues. Hope you are doing good.
