She has a conscience, but she has ambition too. Her ambition is one thats driven by survival, and by her beginnings. Her conscience comes to the fore whenever she is near Han, and I think her past with Crimson Dawn, and the deeds she did to survive in the galaxy, will lead her to seek redemption. She is such an interesting character, largely because of the way Emilia Clarke plays the part in Solo, and I’d like to see her utilised more, to move the narrative along with films like Obi Wan.

I think she was trying to save Han. Maul said that Crismon Dawn could not be killed by one person. He said that he will find out and go after the others.
Also, she is a survivor. She will wait for the correct moment to betray Maul.

I've seen Solo twice now, and both times I feel like the Maul scene was filmed ambiguously, meaning that the actress did not know who she was talking to until a decision was made later who the hologram would be. She makes no mention of name or status. She should be a bit terrified facing Maul for the first time, especially since he intentionally tries to intimidate her with his lightsaber....but she's not. It's a good idea to make her force sensitive, and even Maul's apprentice. I want them to explore non-affiliated force users like Bendu and Maul more. There is a horrible shortage of force users to write stories about in a post jedi order world.

I think Qi'ra became maul appreciate for a while until season 2 of rebels right before maul was on malcor she betrayed maul like you said until ezra found Maul.
