Mooncakes are the Asian version of the fruitcake, an often gifted, equally as often thrown away or re-gifted baked good typically eaten during the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival. While typically filled with mung bean or lotus paste and featuring a dried, salted duck egg yolk, in Southeast Asia these can have a variety of fillings, including today's baked delight with durian filling. These doughy cakes are stuffed with the funk of forty thousand years, and Val hops on board the Stinky Train to Sulfurville on today's episode of Trippy Food.

you are a brave man. that cake was like trying to win a gross contest, and Asia won. I like seeing you on wreckless eating, take care, Man. :-)

Oh, I love durian flavored things, but this video just seemed too short, sorry. Without a good close-up of the inside, it just wasn't trippy enough.
