European Union Week - Globalization, innovation, and the role of regions in the European Union
Показать описание
The European Union Week 2017 was organized by TUM School of Management from July 3rd to 7th at the Technical University of Munich for the first time.
Peter Berkowitz, the head of Unit for Smart and Sustainable Growth in the Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy in the European Commission, gave his presentation on the challenge of globalization, the reality of growth in the EU, and the relevant innovation policies to sustain the growth.
The event offered an opportunity to discuss the idea of united Europe from a variety of perspectives and comprised of several fascinating talks and lectures under the overarching topic
“The European Union –Vision, Challenges and the Way Forward”.
The European Union is essential for peace and prosperity on our continent and serves as a template for the rest of the world in terms of human development while championing the values of inclusion, tolerance, justice, solidarity, and non-discrimination.
These achievements should not be taken for granted and the citizens of the European Union need to realize the privilege and benefits of living in the Union while being appreciative of the historic significance of the project.
The European Union Week arranged by TUM is a testament to our commitment and belief in the EU project and our way of championing the core values of diversity, freedom, security, justice, and inclusion without borders.
The aim of the European Union Week was to both inform participants about the EU as well as get them excited about the European idea. We believe that this is particularly important in light of the inevitable exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union, and its ghastly consequences on the entire region.
