The League of Extraordinary Methodist Women

In the late 1800s, women in India could not get medical attention from male doctors - yet there were no female physicians. Eight Methodist women raised money and sent the first female missionary; that was the first of thousands of mission projects that would build what we now call United Methodist Women.
