Hi Britec🤗 I have Windows 11 home on unsupported hardware (via your video)and have been getting regular updates including the 23H2. I set up for Window 11 Pro but had grayed out areas for certain functions. Tried different things, nothing worked. Finally Microsoft messaged me on the screen to change to Home version because they found the license for that computer 😄 I did that and BINGO. Win 11 still working great for 2yrs now. I also check for updates on a regular basis. Your videos are terrific! Keep up the good work 🥳

I have already upgraded my unsupported laptop to Windows 11 23H2. But I did it from the ISO with Rufus. Much safer. 👍

I did a fresh install of Windows 11 23H2 on unsupported hardware using Rufus 4.3 never had a problem, if i want to do an install over Windows 10 or a previous version of Windows 11 I use Rufus to copy to the USB and then copy it back to my PC and just run that modified version, never had any updating issues

This worked perfectly on 2012 Laptop. i5 2nd Gen. From Windows 10 to 11. Laptop originally came with Windows 7.

Startup take sometime. After that works smooth without any major lags.

Rufus does this for you and is so much easier.

Microsoft will never stop providing security patches on unsupported hardware and the only real difference with older processors is some advanced features of Windows 11 won’t be supported but in general if your PC could run Windows 10 x64, it will run Windows 11. I don’t get the TPM requirement - Microsoft should have required it only for the corporate market because its not really needed on home PCs and Windows 11 can run without TPM enabled at all!

Don't bother installing Win 11 on unsupported hardware. I've tried twice and it BSOD on a daily basis. Win 10 is excellent and it's my personal belief MS will change the end date of support. They will not want to be the company that causes the dumping of millions of pieces of perfectly usable hardware because of a TPM chip or older CPU.

"Upgrade" and "windows 11" don't go together in the same sentence. 😅

I upgraded both my non compliant machines from W11 22H2 to 23H2 by downloading the iso then copying the contents to a temporary folder Windows11 then using the terminal command C:\Windows11\setup.exe /product server
as in Brian's previous video

Hej Brian thanks for the video yes i agree with you here i also think it is better to stay on Windows 10 if your computer does not meet the system requirements for Windows 11. Because you never know like you also say Brian if Microsoft stops releasing security updates for computers with unsupported hardware for Windows 11. I have two gaming laptops one Asus it doesn't meet the requirements for Windows 11 but i installed Windows 11 on it it ran fine on Windows 11 but I installed Windows 10 again on that computer. And yes you never know maybe Microsoft extends support for Windows 10 by one year, which I think they should do. The other computer I have is an Msi gaming laptop and it meets the requirements for Windows 11 and i have installed Windows 11 23H2 on the Msi laptop take care Brian and ha en skön kväll.

Brian I have been using Windows 11 Pro on my old Ivy Bridge build for some time now after upgrading to 11 using the bypass instructions I used via the Rufus application. Now I have version 22H2 and am wondering if this method here will work for me on the Windows version I have at present or do you think I should just stick to the 22H2 version as I have seen there is not much difference between the new version (23H2) and the one (22H2) I am using??

Since I haven't found anything at all that Win 11 does better than Win 10, I won't be "up" grading to a more complex, more locked-down computer which is controlled by Microsoft. Be wary folks, this new OS can result in you being locked out of your own computer, and if that happens good luck! Those running newer computers are also at risk since the default security level is so high. People can be locked out & need a long password (generated by MS, not the user) to get back into their computer, and that password isn't something that a lot of users will even know about, let alone know where to find it. Since I have three computers, none of which is new enough to have a TPM, I've bookmarked this handy guide; but I really hope that I never have to use it!
