As someone who does art and specializes in portraiture (I'd say im somewhat decent in it, although not the best), I feel like the most common issues amongst all of them is bad porportions, I'd say if they learned just a little bit about porportions it would help them massively.

There's actually a lot of skill shown in these, for artists who are still learning. The trap is getting so close to the picture that you can't see it properly. My tip to budding artists is to take a break from a drawing for a week, and when you come back to it you should be able to see it in its entirety! (But also maybe you don't care that much and you're just having fun, in which case keep at it!!)

When I was 13 I poured my heart and soul into a piece of black butler fan art. I painted on a canvas and spent hours perfecting it. It depicts Sebastian holding ciel and it is captioned “anything for you my lord”

Years later I found it and it is now displayed in my friends room. It truly is a piece of its time.
