I passed my driving test yesterday with 4 minors first time! I took 13 lessons in the space of 6 weeks and It was honestly the best feeling. It isn’t that different to driving lessons depending on how your instructor teaches you. Focus on doing mock tests (atleast 5 before your test) and good luck!

Great tips, I did some commentary driving on my test and the examiner was saying how much they love that as they get a better idea of your awareness and planning. Mine was so friendly and we had some great chats and jokes, it was nice he said at the end he could have had a mug of tea with him and wouldn’t have spilt it as I was a calm driver. I actually thanked him after for being so nice and putting me at ease. I also commented about appropriate speed on say a dual carriageway where I could have been at 60mph but due to ridiculous levels of roadworks didn’t get past 45mph, felt at least I’d said what I would do in normal driving conditions. Since passing I set mini targets and ones been gradually slowing before say a 30mph stretch or lights so I’m not using the brakes too much.

I tried the commenting today whilst driving to work with my wife as a guide. It made a huge difference to nerves, reacting to the hazards etc plus everything that needs to be done becomes automatic. Such a great tip

Passed with zero minors, i wasnt expecting it and was expecting like 2-3 serious faults but somehow made no faults in the test
