I believe its an ancient survival sense. It's hardwired in us to sense when a predatory creature like a Tiger, Wolf etc is stalking us.

Try staring at the back of people's head from a distance when in public. This way they can't hear you or see your shadow. They turn and meet your gaze quite often.

When you're sleeping then you suddenly awaken to the sensation that someone is staring at you.

I sense it sometimes before the person even looks at me.

I experience this in other ways too, like I always know if my teacher will pick me to talk/do something during class or if the office calls for me, simple things like that

I've had this happen twice during lectures. I'll be sitting there minding my own business and I get the urge to look to my right only to find someone look away instantly. This person was out of my field of view and the only sound I was hearing was the professor giving the lesson. It's weird, but it feels oddly cool experiencing this "sense" out of nowhere

Everyone I'm in my class doing classwork, I sense some classmates staring at me so I turn and look back at them. Guess what? They are actually staring at me and it's weird cuz I don't know how I sense it.

There is a theory that our mind is not in our brain and can travel without a body. The theory also explains why mothers feel if their child is in danger hundreds or even thousands of miles away that turns out to be true. We defiantly need to learn about ourselves more.

When I was young, one night I was sleeping peacefully only to open my eyes suddenly and see my father staring at me. Turns out he was checking if I was actually asleep or just acting like the usual.

This is very true, I think literally everyone experienced that. Just recently I was walking and saw a beautiful girl standing and watching street painting, she looked straight into my eyes while I was walking. That was amazing!

This is extraordinary? I can be asleep and wake up if anyone, even my cat is staring at me.

I've also noticed this, for example several cars can drive past a person and they won't turn around but if you take an interest in them (driving in car myself) for whatever reason and look sometimes they will turn around this has happened with both men and women. There has to be some sort of truth behind this....

Little side note. Not only can I feel and know when someone is staring at me but I know when they are talking about me. I also know when my dad enters my room, even when I'm in such a deep sleep or even in a dream.

I'm the living proof I sense someone looking at me or following me and caught them looking at me and following. It's good to have this ability to know if person is following you or not

I definitely hate the feeling of being stared at when I'm trying to enjoy taking a walk. It's not so much that I feel paranoid that I'm being watched. It's just really distracting knowing that I'm being stared at. And when I'm trying to enjoy my music and I wanna sing or dance along while I'm taking a walk, I feel very self-conscious when people are staring and judging and wondering what I'm doing. It's like "Bro I'm not trying to draw attention from you! In fact I'm trying to be in my own little world. sometimes it's impossible for me to ignore people staring at me. So stop looking at me!!". I'm sorry it's just really frustrating for me

Of course! I realized that sense in 2009 for the first time. It became obvious that we live in a quantum world. We can also sense other people's emotions from the distance! It's especially a matter of sensitivity which depends on health level... :D <3
