Raccoon in Attic

Raccoons commonly make a nest in attics. The will even create an entry for themselves. Fortunately, the raccoon in this case, only ripped through the soffit vent (an easy repair). In many cases, raccoons will rip through the shingles and roof decking to gain entrance into an attic.

This particular raccoon did not want to share the attic with me during my inspection and was free to leave. Hopefully, he chooses not to come back.

I had one in my attic and it eventually chewed its way through my ceiling right into my bathroom.
It wasn't friendly at all and the situation didn't end well.

I also have a raccoon buddy. It's a pretty young and small one who I give food to. He's a cute and friendly little guy. Wouldn't trade him for anything. :3

Not a lot of animal lovers in the comments. They move in the attic to hibernate for the winter, then leave in spring. Chill out people and let them be.
