I think someone could make a meme of you just repeatedly saying “murder” as you get closer to the screen.

had to help some friends of mine, too!
How to pronounce the ö: keep (!) your lips like saying "o", but say the German "e"
ü: keep (!) your lips like saying "u", but say the German "i" ;-)

Really enjoy your videos. My ancestors were German, but I don't know any. Just started trying to learn. Your videos are fun and easy to understand. Thanks.

I found it very helpful to learn how to type umlauts on the keyboard in Word!  I do not like writing the e after everything, it looks strange to me without the umlauts!!

I actually always thought the a with umlauts was pronounced more like how the letter "A" is pronounced in English.  I learned how to pronounce that better now. Vielen Dank!!!

spanish is my native language, so theres nothing like this in spanish and its pretty dificult, everybody in my class makes their own version of the ä, ö, ü sound, hearing a native speaker clear things a little, thanks for the videos !!

It is funny that actually "ä" and "ö" are in swedish and finnish as well. Dunno about denmark and comppany but it is fun to actually find some similar between finnish and german

As native English speaker, it seems like German sounds are often halfway between two things we know. Like when I heard people say danke schön in Germany, it sounded halfway between "shurn" and something closer to what you'd expect - like there was a phantom "r".

I'm mexican and I'm learning Deutsch, and this umlauts are one of the most difficult things to pronounce, because we have "closed vowels" (I dunno if they have a real name), an a is always an a, an e is always an e and they always sound exactly the same. Although I already speak English, and it makes Deutsch a bit easier, what I've found best to make this umlauts is to make, i.e. for ü, "mouth for u" and then say "i" from my throat. (Don't know if this makes any sense to you anyways :P).

I'm trying to teach myself German and I really can't find anything helpful explaining how to structure sentences. It's kind of a lot to explain in a video, but any insight at all would be greatly appreciated!
