My son and I watched a P51 and a Spitfire doing simulated strafing runs at Oshkosh one year, and I have to say that is still one of the biggest thrills of my life. The Spit sounded like a jet. So many of the war bird owners are (understandably) reluctant to open them up, so many never get to see and hear what the planes can do. That same year a chartered 747 from New Zealand was there and made low, slow, side-slipping passes over the runway. Absolutely awesome.

What a great display! Loved it and how late afternoon sun caught the wings;just beautiful. But do hope they caught the oil burns on inverted flight? Not expert but would think the oil rings etc. may be time for overhaul. Priveleged to have flown in one in Aust. I never get sick of listenening and watching this magnificent machine.

The p51 mustang is one of best aircraft ever made, an american design with a British rolls Royce merlin engine turned it into a killer ww2 fighter plane

Schon interessant wie manche Mustangs heulen und andere nicht. es heist immer es wären die Gunports oder der Einlass unterm Rumpf. Eine genaue Feststellung habe ich nich nicht gesehen. Gut festgehalten!
