Hi Elena, thanks for the video! I’m currently deciding between two apartments for my 7 month stay in Athens. One is in Exarchia on Konstantinou Smolenski and the other is in Neos Kosmos on the street Ntelakroua. Which one would you recommend? I love a bit of busy city life close by, but someone told me Exarchia wouldn’t have a very local or greek feel?
On the other hand, I like that Neos Kosmos might be more lokal, a bit closer to the beach -but will Ntelakroua be boring?

If I could suggest one thing, invest in a tripod just so the camera doesn’t move so much, gives me a little headache, but the information was so helpful! 🙌

I went to Athens last summer and walked around many areas of the city. I am going again this summer and would like to go to Lycabettus since I didn’t get a chance to see the view and the little church on the hill. Would it be safe for a female to walk alone from Syntagma to Lycabettus or should I take a taxi 🚖?

We stayed at a hotel in the triangle at Athinas 35……the hotel was great, the main road Athinas was fine even at night, but not as nice as the hotel we used in Makrygianni

Basically theese are the ghettos, lots of migrants and omonia is where the junkies have their "meetings" i have lived in victoria about 1, 5 years now as an expat from Sweden and i can tell you even Athens worst areas are safer than random town/city in sweden, i move around alot by foot from victoria pass omonia to monastiraki at day and night and i never felt threatened or had any disputes with anybody, but yes as a girl i would recommend that you have company. Nice video 🙏

As for myself decided on purpose to go live in Omonia, why is everyone afraid of addicts and homeless people?? It is close to everything and the rent is cheap, very cheap I may add. And well yes I am not a person who is easily scared or intimidated, I guess that makes a difference.
In my opinion videos like this, make things look and sound worse then they actually are.
And reading the comments under here, I should start my own night protection firm to walk ladies from Omonia square (metro) to Psyri, may have found a gap in the market.
