These 5 years Steve grows so much it's insane, and we dont even get to see it. He questions himself now. He always did what he believed was morally right but when he was wrong it caused some serious problems. He doesn't see himself as some figure here. And he also stopped being obsessed with having a battle to fight. Like Ultron said, he was pretending he could live without a war. But in this movie he concedes he needs to get a life. The war was lost; he didn't need to keep fighting it. I think this movie saw Steve at his most morally sound, self aware, and frankly, healthy.

We really had such a great time with the MCU leading up to Endgame. Nothing will ever capture the magic of Downey as Ironman, or Evans as Steve Rogers. What a time it was

That line: "Why? He made it for you." seems so simple on the surface, but man is there an ocean of forgiveness under it. For Steve, sure, but also for himself. That's a man's apology. You did wrong, I did wrong. Here's something to balance the scales and we move on.

People said there was no resolution for Civil War but this was the resolution. I've had friends that I fought with and didn't talk for years and then when we finally came back together this is pretty much how it went. We joked, it was a little weird for a minute, and then we got right back to where we were. It sounds stupid but sometimes this is how men do it. I don't know if women do it like this so I can't speak to that.

doubly impactful because the last statement Tony said about Cap's shield was during Civil War when he told Cap he didn't deserve the shield because his father made it. This makes the statement: "Why? He made it for you." hit that much harder

It took me this long to realize the true relationship of Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, not as friends or rivals but as brothers. Howard Stark created Captain America, a symbol of selfless duty. Tony hated Steve because he represented the son he felt his father really wanted.

It was a horrible set of circumstances that wounded both men.
