In Astro's playroom, when you unlock the playstation pocket and when you see the description it says "pretty big in Japan!" Like that's a cool Easter egg!

I still have my pocketstation...with a few games saved on it like Brave Fencer Musashi, FFVIII and Parasite Eve. Those were the good old days.

I played Astro's Playroom for the PS5 and I've come across the PocketStation in the form of a collectible. There are so many interesting and strange PlayStation accessories I didn't even know about.

Legend of Dragoon - My favorite game of all time, had a feature in Japan where the player could earn gold from a minigame played on the pocketstation and the gold would be unloaded when you plugged it back into the PS1. I wonder if I will ever get to try that for myself.

I remember this as a concept. It was supposed to work as a memory card that one could save game data onto then continue parts of the game on whilst you weren’t connected to a console. Way ahead of its time

When some games used special accessories that were nearly impossible to find lol. I remember playing a game that had this feature. I think it was one of the saga frontier games, and I had never even seen this accessory before in any store or even heard of it. It was just mentioned in the instruction manual with the game I rented lol.
