Anime is the one thing that somehow made me feel that I've escaped the cruel reality we're living in but only to realize that I'm actually going towards it.

No any other country can replace Japanese voice acting, stories and animations. It has its uniqueness.

As a Chinese, I know our industry is rising, but Japanese anime is the origination of it, I wish the government can do something to help this..

It’s high time Japanese animators get paid more for their work with better working conditions

This is honestly a scary take, but I could see it happening way in the future to some extent. I'm hoping things get better for all the creators who work so hard to get us these incredible artworks.

No animation from another country has touched me as deeply as Japanese anime did. That's all I will say.

I don't want the anime industry to die. I always hated how animation is such an underated, underpaid and overworking job, yet people go crazy if the animation itself isn't good enough. Give these animators the money, the time and the love they deserve!!

Well even if those studios stop working, it doesn’t matter because it’s already enough. Those studios make thousands of great shows and masterpiece that you couldn’t even finish in your lifetime.

All the more reason to be understanding and realize animators and anime artists are real people. They don’t deserve death threats and hate when they’re already spending 40 hours a day pumping content.

I doubt that Japanese anime will die for a while

Welp, lately I don't even watch anime anymore.

In my opinion, they should:
*1. Overhaul the industry's work ethic or Japan's work ethic in general.*
Stuffs like seniority, can't go home even after finished your work, must wait your boss to go home first, etc.

*2. Stop making "typical" & boring anime.*
Stuffs like OP characters, harem protagonists, super genius protagonists, cheat protagonists, characters that's so dense they don't even acknowledge other people feelings, etc.
These characters or protagonists actually make the story lose it suspension, and if every anime have the same type of MC it gets boring fast.

*3. They really should try to improve their tech.*
Like CGIs, they should really try to properly implement that to anime or try implement a new type of mix arts (for example the new puss in boots, where DreamWorks properly mixed CGI and Cartoon animation).

Lack of work ethic…

Japanese animators who work for 10 hours a day for only $2 an hour, with no breaks in between: 👁️👄👁️

All jokes aside, bless those animators. Y’all deserve the world.

I hope to God that things get better for the animators in Japan. Hope their health and pay changes for the better.

Well, Japanese animation studios has been outsourcing some of their jobs to animation studios in China and Vietnam for quite some time now. If you watch carefully, you'd noticed Chinese or Vietnamese names in the ending credits in every episodes. So in other words, Japanese studios are indirectly training their future successors/competitors 😅
