“I welcome you all to hear the testimonial of Dr. ADANE NIGUSSIE ROBI, Merck Foundation Oncology Alumni, Ethiopia (One Year On-Campus Fellowship Training in Medical Oncology) from the Merck Foundation Cancer Access Program. Merck Foundation Oncology Fellowship Program focuses on building professional cancer care capacity with the aim to increase the limited number of oncologists in Africa.

The objective of the program is to improve access to cancer care solutions by developing a Multidisciplinary Oncology Care team in each country (like Medical, Surgery, Pediatric, Gynae, Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Technician, Nursing, Pathologist) as an integrated team approach can lead to better outcomes.

The Oncology Fellowship Program provides One, two- and three-years fellowship and master’s degree programs in India, Egypt, Kenya and Malaysia in partnership with African Ministries of Health, Local Governments and Academia.

We are striving to improve access to better healthcare in underserved communities by educating and training the medical graduates and to basically strengthen the local capacities and enhance the clinical management processes. The goal is to raise awareness for these health conditions as well as to support healthcare systems with the measures to prevent, diagnose and manage them effectively.

Can you imagine how many patients they would be able to help!! Each doctor can help at least 2000 families per month. Merck Foundation touches people's lives every day.

Congratulations to our Merck Foundation Alumni!”
