If I had to guess based on this and the previous vid, the spell speed boosters work exactly the same way as they did in DS3; by adding 'virtual dexterity'. In other words, since they just work within the constraints of the stat soft/hard caps, they aren't capable of stacking efficiently with the actual stat or eachother. Again, based on your videos, I'd say we can safely assume the staff adds roughly 40ish vDex, the talisman should be about 30. Given that the 'cap' is 70, no build will be able to fully utilize having both the talisman and staff boosts.

Going from base Dex in the previous vid to the max Dex+vDex of 99, we get a roughly 17% increase in speed. Honestly, I have to say that I think that's pitiful. Just terrible. Save your stat points and talisman slots for something that will actually help, like more stamina.

While the effect is minimal, the slight increase in casting speed at max values is still enough to make stuff like carian piercer much harder to avoid in pvp.


Still wish that casting speed was determined by Mind instead of Dex, but that's a pipe dream.

So you notice a speed increase with every 10 levels of dex right?

If I were to have 20 dex and icon tailsman would that equate to 50 dex? Do you know what percentage that would increase the spellcasting? Also with azure as another factor with that pushing you to 90 dex.

So the casting speed effects dont stack, using azurs alone will be enough?
Shouldn’t it be better to use the talisman and a regular stave to negate the higher FP cost?
Is azur comet also affected by casting speed?

My luck. Wasn't even in the spot it was supposed to be. Played 28 hours have looked for 7 different staffs and only have found 1. Not sure why my game doesn't have staffs and weapons where they're supposed to be.
