The bubble top gets the headlines, but the grill on this Pontiac has always been one of the greatest, yet more understated, design elements of the 1960’s. The grill surround leans slightly forward, but the actual grill within it leans backwards. It’s a design element that doesn’t leap out at you, but once you notice it you can’t take your eyes off it.

As a child, my parents had a 1961 Pontiac Bonneville Safari wagon. Power windows and antenna, power tailgate window, tricolor interior. I absolutely loved that car. They sold it in 1971 when my mom got a Cadillac Fleetwood (which I still have!). I missed that car so much, I dreamed of finding one. It took me, off and on, several years to find one. It needs to be restored but runs great. It does not have the power windows, but it has factory AC and no rust. It has the same 303 hp 389, hobbled only by the 2.87 rear end that came with the wagons. It still has the original "stars" headliner! What a thrill it was to get it, it still has that Pontiac vinyl smell I remember from long ago. And drives fantastic!

That Pontiac brings back memories. My friends mom had a 59 Catalina Safari. We went everywhere in that. It was really cool riding in the back. Her brother bought a 63 Gran Prix new. What a beautiful car! Black on black.

Thank you for this video! I was at The Audrain yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed my time! I scanned each QR and listened and read all of the information on each vehicle. Ill be back next year for the Concourse again and the museum. Thank you Mr. Osborne and staff and all who assisted and participated in an absolutely wonderful week and weekend!

I’m partial to the’61 Pontiac, partly because it is a beauty, but also because my mother drove a ‘61 Star Chief and it brings back memories. It had more power than my mother was used to. Those cars tended to age very well from a styling perspective.

I come to channels like this to get a respite from the horrible things in this distopian world of which we now live.
We all have our dream cars, I know mine, and I know you know yours.
Happy for channel like this.
ICE for ever!

We used to drool over these Pontiacs - and the other GM big cars too - when we were teenagers. Power, style, speed, and luxury in one package.

I love unique cars! I owned a '71 Buick Riviera, and a '72 Buick Riviera GS with the Stage-1 455 and 373 posi rear end.

That Gran Sport is incredible! Great to see and admire up close the so many 'familiar faces' in this exhibition!

1973 Stage 1, buyers remorse, gas shortages, waiting in lines at gas station, even and odd days. That Buick should of had port holes.

Although the bubble top was a “one year option” for Pontiac, Olds, and Buick, Chevrolet famously offered the bubble top on the 1962 Bel Air, which are highly prized today.

Oh man that 1973 Buick century gs is perfect! Love the colonnade intermediate and fullsize models. Got a colonnade LeSabre coupe myself. It has the same big window in the C pillar and same swooping lines. It is also with the 455 and with those gorgeous Buick formula five chrome plated steel rally wheels. Buick is my favourite brand of all time

Good evening Gentlemen . Well! The big surprise for me was the Buick . The ultimate " wolf in sheeps clothing " . The Jeep does what it says on the tin . But the Pontiac for me was the Creme de la Creme ....poise, purpose and perfection . Thankyou Gentlemen .

My first car back in 1969 was a 61 Bonneville. It was gray with a white top and beautiful red interior. The shades of red along with the seemingly ACRES of chrome was unbelievable! I removed every bulb in the dash and spray painted them red. The size of the car along with the 389 4v was not the greatest combination for a 16 year old. After several tickets for speeding and reckless driving, I had to surrender my license for 6 months and sell the car or my parents would have had their insurance cancelled. When I finally got back on the road, it was in a 1961 Ford Falcon. A real downgrade but, looking back it probably saved my life! That Pontiac will always be the most beautiful car ever!

As far as the Buick, she's special. Amazes me that friend of mine had a car more base model of this. And he always said they got the shape backwards. Sloping at the tail lights and flat on front. And as far as the willys Jeep. You know you can still find them for less than a couple thousand dollars is rust buckets incomplete playing around. As far as the Buick. It's roof line looks a lot like a two-door Impala from the early to mid-seventies or the Caprice

Gorgeous car. Color. The older Pontiacs in this era are rare. My Aunt had a Catalina wagon. Big momma. Nice to see yellow Buick in the semi malaise era. 455 killer stage one. Wow. Rare. Not into this jeep. But thanks Gentlemen.❤🥰💙💜😎
