I was lucky enough to be introduced to Leo whilst on a cable car at Val. He was the nicest, most incredibly humble dude imaginable. Stoked to just be talking about skiing and his career. Even got to chase him and his friends around for a lap. He pointed out a big lip, squawked like an rabid seagull and proceeded to lay out the steeziest backflip I’ve ever seen. He vanished around a ridge and that was the last I saw of him.

Nothing like knowing the mountain like its your own back yard.. Because it is!!!!... In the early 90s we lived in an old 60s ski house.. Anywhere between 12 to 20 people sleeping there and all very skilled skiers... (Not as good as this kid).. But we were some of the best living up in Breckenridge at that time.... We had a dozen or so lines that we skied this aggressively minus the bck flip (Cant lie.. Nobody was pulling those off bck then).. But banging off a fallen tree or a rock ledge was all part of the day.. (Again Granting the conditions were right).. The last run of the day would consist of a nice cruise with some great lines through the woods dwn through a small rock garden then up and right onto the deck of our house that we had removed a couple of sections of railings in the fall so we could ski rght from mountain rght to house and jump into the hot tub... Lolol.. The reason I'm writting this is to inspire as many kids as possible to GO FOR IT AND DO IT!!!.. If you keep thinking of moving out West and living the ski lifestyle... DO IT!!!.. JST FIND A WAY AND DO IT!!!.. Because the only way you will make this kinda run a reality is if you life work and play on a mountain and get the best conditions of the year to do it... Im now on my mid 40s and have No regrets because I made it happen in my youth... DO IT... MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!..
