Thank you very much, young lady. You are the first teacher on YouTube who gives a logical explanation about the difference between these sounds. The difference lies in the tongue placement. For the word thin, for example, the tip of the tongue is placed behind the upper teeth; on the other hand, when the word ends with the ing sound, the tongue is down.
