I went through my teenage years with biting elbows, listening to them everytime i had to push myself to survive. Now i'm 21 and having a new album to listen during this rough times makes me realize again that bad things are just the past, they are just stories. I loved the album !

I know it's probably a bit annoying to hear the "I got here from hardcore henry" thing again but I really mean it when I say thank you for making that movie. I got into your band back in 2015 and Biting Elbows has been one of my favorites ever since.

So while this is a really late comment and you'll probably never see this thank you for all of your hard work. I'll do my best to support you guys for however long I can.

Ive been following Biting Elbows for about jeez maybe 6 or 7 years now (found them when the music video for Bad Mothefucker went viral) and I have been looking forward to a second album for so long. I grew up with this band. I took the train to school at 14 listening to the first album, listened to few singles they released over the years throughout high school and now Im going to university still listening to their songs, my life completely different from when I found them. The music sure helped me get through some very strange times. I remember years ago hearing Ilya say on his story that his band members have been harassing him to get in the studio but he was busy directing other projects. I also personally asked Ilya on one of his livestreams about a year or two ago if Out in the Distance was ever going to be released and he replied that he liked the song very much but his bandmates weren't too happy with it so they decided to scrape it. I wonder what made them change their minds. Nevertheless, I am beyond thrilled that they just dropped an album out of the blue. If nothing else good comes out of this year at least we have this. Cheers!

Songs like Control and Heartache feel so different from the way it felt with the music videos for them. In context of the album they gain even more strength, they sound even deeper than they felt as singles. And 'Breathe Out' - that's a real uncut gem! So touching, so hurting, yet so gentle - one of the best songs Biting Elbows have ever made. And one of the best ballads ever written by russians. For the first listening 'Shorten the Longing' feels like it lacks a bit of that youthful energy, that was in tracks like Bullied Boy or Toothpick (oh gosh, that Clash-alike chorus, that huge ending with Ilya screaming, and that music video for Toothpick - like if Guy Ritchie was a fan of Ted Bundy or Ed Gein, gosh it was awesome), but then it becames much clearer - Toothpick and Bullied Boy were written by boys, very angry, very talented, yet - boys, while 'Shorten the Longing" was written by men - strong, self-confident and wise men.
And again - 'Breathe Out' - the song alone is a perfect reason for Biting Elbows to exist. Amazing album, amazing job, amazing band.
