Ive heard from a number of tech sites that this is temporarily when iOS 8 was still new and they probably stoped it now. I haven't downloaded so please try but I ain't gonna.

Really wished you'd have shown the download process.  Went to your download links page, clicked link for iPad2.4 and nothing that you described (including the desktop icon you show) happened.  The iPad2.4 file is now stuck in Downloads, there's a "File Opener" folder on my desktop that isn't letting me drag the file on to it.  Really all I've accomplished is losing 2 hours of my time I'll never get back and an iPad with inferior functioning.  Kinda bummed out now.  If you have any tips on what I need to do to access the restore program I'd appreciate it.
