Dexys Demo: 'My Rose' ('You're The Rose')

By 'popular demand' here is the Early-Nineties demo of the song which was eventually released as "Now" on "One Day I'm Going To Soar". Referred to variously as "My Rose" or "You're The Rose" - both phrases being audible in the lyrics - the song was co-written by Kevin Rowland and Big Jimmy Paterson (though Mick Talbot also receives a credit on the released version.)

Along with "Manhood", "If I Ever" and "My Life In England" this was one of the tracks scheduled for inclusion on the never completed and unreleased Dexys Midnight Runners project planned as their come-back album.

Love it, I’m lucky enough to have a copy of the 90’s demos and I listen to them as much as any of the other albums and it’s great your giving others a chance to hear them..

Thanks for uploading! Surprised how much of this made it into 'Now'. Right down to vocal inflections and the 'brass' lines! Shame that Jim didn't play on the ODIGTS version.
