You make it sound like Lewis pleaded guilty to murder when the truth is he didn’t. The prosecution didn’t have evidence to convict him of murder. They offered him a plea deal that if pled guilty to obstruction of justice (a charge that would likely stick) and testified against his two friends, he would only receive probation and serve no time.
