Anatomy of a Good 'no' Her Radical Out of Office Reply
Показать описание
Its August and you may be either readying for vacation or returning from it.
Lisa Druxman, CEO of Fit4MOM, a fitness business that helps moms get back into shape.
She remembers the moment FIT4MOM,went nationwide and was booming.
“I was in total overwhelm.” Her values were her kids, family, health, and she wasn't living in alignment with any of it.” So she took a hard look at her calendar, and made a commitment to hold her time sacred.
During the pandemic, she made a commitment to take a three-week European vacation with her family.
She chose some pretty bold language for her “out of office” email language:
"Thank you for your email. I'm practicing what I preach and I'm unplugging. Your email will be deleted. I am not going to come back to reading a thousand emails. So if it's important, here's other people you can contact, or if it's important to you resend it after this date."
It sent every single email to auto archive. She didn’t want her return from vacation to be stressful with a 1000 emails.
People thought it was mindblowing.
People would say, “I wish my company would allow me to do that. I certainly would allow any of my team members to do the same.”
Other said, “That's what we need to do more.”
Ultimately, nobody was frustrated or angry with Druxman’s bold “out of office” statement.
“I came home from three weeks to having no emails.”
If you're struggling to say 'no' gracefully at work, I've created a free download with scripts to help you navigate these conversations with finesse.
Download it here and learn how to say 'no'—nicely.
I'll be adding new scripts each week, so stay tuned!
