Objectives:
• Describe the spectrum of group A streptococcal disease, with a particular focus on invasive group A streptococcal (iGAS) disease.

• Review the approach to management of iGAS, including antimicrobial management and adjunctive measures.

• Understand the changing epidemiology of iGAS both locally and globally, and highlight potential factors driving an increase in cases.

• Describe iGAS prevention measures, including infection control considerations, contact management, and the status of vaccine research.
