I home schooled my first child first through 7th grade. Due to divorce I had to put him in a public school. Of course they had to test him and he scored 11th grade through college level on everything. I only allowed him to skip the 8th grade. He only went to public school for one year and then chose to live with his dad so he could attend a private Christian school. I taught HS in both private and public schools. The home is the key for every child’s learning. My son first became a teacher and then decided after 3 years of teaching ( with all the government interference) to go to Parker University and became a Dr. Of chiropractic. He now has a very nice practice and is doing extremely well.
I saw someone say here that their child taught themselves and actually once they can read well they can pretty much do the work on their own.

This is When I was homeschooling my kids, many of the same people who said I was "ruining" them later commented that they'd never seen such well- behaved, obviously smart kids. Some of mine had some years in school. Sometimes, depending on what kids seem to need, going to school can seem to make sense. However, in the early years (basically for all of elementary school) classroom learning in public schools does not match the developmental needs of children. It ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT!!! Since the pandemic, there is a whole new dynamic in factors that disrupted critical early childhood development.

As a norwegian i can confirm we (at least my generation does, i was born in the 70's) use the term "Det var helt Texas" to mean it was totally chaotic/wild. It doesn't mean crazy as in insane though. I always thought it came from the movie stereotype where some guys come in and shoot up a little town somewhere.

Truthfully, some homeschooled kids are the most independent thinkers today.✨🌍✨

He made some very funny stereotypical and offbeat jokes re: homeschooling. I think his ability to make the audience laugh is a good testimony to homeschooling, rather than putting homeschooling down. Very capable young man.

At 60 went to college with 15 yr old home schooled kids. They had already graduated high school and were the geniuses of the college classes. Straight a college students. Recent grads could not keep up

It's great for joking but I bet A TON of parents would love to have their kid get a 1970's education. They'd actually graduate knowing something.

THAT WAS AWESOME! I was homeschooled before the internet, so I really understand a lot of where you are coming from! It was actually awesome though, and now I’m homeschooling my own kids! 😊

Best part about this is all the homeschool parents responses. So coherent and grammatically correct! Unlike the responses (and responders) to many other YouTube videos. Love it, love being able to poke fun at being homeschooled. Homeschooling is the way! Especially today. In these current controversial times, this emphasizes the quality and favorability of homeschooling. Keep it up!

As someone who was homeschooled through high school, the feeling of not knowing ANYTHING, is legit.

What's worse, is that people would comment on how well spoken I was and how well I conducted myself in public, which only makes me wonder "What the hell is everyone else like?".

At 25 I recently had someone tell me "You're very mature for your age"; which was an immediate sign that they don't know me very well. 😅
