Damn, I'm in the process of installing a thermostat and decided to check out a video prior just because. I never knew about that little vent hole. I've played with it with my finger but never knew it should be facing up.

What if the thermostat is (horizontal)facing up? Does it face the engine or the radiation?

It does that no matter where the thermostat is located.

My car does give proper cool air in summers and proper heat in winter. Coolant level is good. Is that thermo stat could be a reason then please let me know

I just have a fluid leak from the thermostat, if the metal is on top, will the fluid not leak out?

if I don't have this hole on the thermostat can I drill it like this? or can I lubricate the gasket with something?

I usually drill a hole on the lil pin, did it on a dodge car and work perfect. Now i did it on a pontiac vibe and the car buble alot so i install the factory thermostat...

It should be 12:00. The jiggle pin also helps bleed the vehicle
