Turned out great, Peggy! I know exactly what you mean, sometimes life gets in the way. I've spent most of Black Fly Season trying to do stuff around the house instead of working in the shop on a cane I started back in November.
Glad you saved that oak top from the trash. You certainly did it justice.

I turn on a 10" lathe and it's fun. I started out with a 40 year old, dried black walnut. It was harder than Japanese arithmetic. I used dull tools and after turning one or 2 successful pieces, I bought carbide tools and Bam, I been doing well for a couple of years.
