Your "thing" with Aaron's "midlife crisis" is just dumb in my opinion. What if he simply likes those kinds of clothes? What if he feels like that's his style? Assuming someone has a "midlife crisis" simply based on the clothes he wears is ignorant.

Tim is one of my favourites. Even though I don’t feel like I could pull off a lot of his looks(the baggy, comfort chic trend), I really admire his ability to put outfits together.

You have a preference/bias for clean styles, and as a man that apeal to me occasionally, but not as much as other styles aomething more adventurous or outdoorsy. I like the style of Carl Murawski for example which I bet you won't like.
