About Me 👩🏽
Hi, I'm Akta :) I'm trying to find more meaning in my relationships, work, and life in general, because I think there's more to it than what society tells us. I try to approach things in a less overwhelming way, because I think there's already so much pressure on us from society.

Come say hi!

I am very much a part of the 99% percent you referenced early on the video. I've also spent a lifetime of lurking and observing other people's content whilst being a bystander in my life. I don't ever comment on videos but for some reason felt a compelling urge to do so today. Mainly I just wanted to say honestly keep going as everything you put out resonates with me on a deep level, and therefore, I feel there is large number of other people for which this is the case also. From someone who has watched a lot of YouTubers over the years, particularly in the self-help space, you definitely have a niche here; and that niche is you being unapologetically the authentic you. Your content feels very refreshing, original and empowering. Gone off on a bit of tangent but yeh just wanted to give some positive encouragement :).

I used to be a loner changing schools all the time (in foster care) and I didn't have quality friends(they were selfish and boring). After I started volunteering I met other former foster kids (who value friendships more since they don't come from greatest families). I met my best friend there and then I started socializing with ppl at my new job. I have so many great friends now I never feel alone like we can just walk into eachother houses now I'm super picky about who I let into my life or who's going to be worth it to take my time away from my friends. They were always there for me when I had mental breakdowns at the hospital(anxiety) and they all have different interests so I'm never bored when I wanna go hiking or travel. I don't even care about romantic relationships cause I always have something else to do (50% of time they don't work out or are cheating or abusive anyways). Only invest in those family or friends who have your best interest at heart life's too short to be unhappy

'exposure therapy' didn't realise this is a coined term, but i agree with so much of what each of the creators and you said! this has framed some of my thoughts so well. it's also so nice to see that we all really do have the same fears yet are part of the 1% that went for it anyway. power to you and this video you wee creative genius 💟

Omg! The reactions of Lana when she's I believe agreeing to what you are saying. It feels like whenever we found people that are like you for the first time in forever again.

Wow. This video is such a testimony. You are a testimony.

Wow! Just wow! I enjoyed every word you and others shared about overcoming your fears and take a chance to put yourselves out here on YouTube and social media.. It takes me way back when I decided to upload my first video, I had so many fears of people judging the way how I talk. 2 years later I have a team who supports what I do and viewers who watches our content has told us that we personally saved / changed their lives for the better. Point I'm trying to say is, continue to make quality content because your content helps others like me who watches your videos. Thank you Akta!

I literally couldn't relate more to this video. I've been the 99% of people, and within the last year to 6 months, I've finally been working to begin to make changes. After years of crippling fear and anxiety about what others might think of me, I'm finally learning that what WE think of ourselves, is what matters in the end. The relationship we have with ourselves, is arguably the most important. It's been my dream to move new york city for the longest time, but was terrified of what my family would think if I told them I was moving away. But now, as of 2 months ago, I moved back home with them to prepare, and it's my goal to be there next spring. To my surprise, although they think it's scary that I'm moving, they're supportive. In my head I thought they'd freak out. Life is messy, it's not meant to be perfect, but in that beautiful mess is where we learn. You nailed it with this in saying that we learn by doing. I've already said a lot, but clearly this video inspired me a ton. So, thanks so much for your content, and congrats on your journey, this will help so many people who see this video 😌 excited to see where you go from here!

I love this video. It does however leave out one key factor: Stress. Putting yourself out there can produce a lot of that and it needs a certain level of resilience to stay persistent.

This video really really helped me get out of my head today. I've been questioning myself and feeling so demotivated by all the voices in my head. I was scared of being judged when people actually don't know me. However, I just started my passion/dream of the blog and so so excited to see what I'm truly capable of. This journey is mine and so mine. No one cares and that's liberating. Thank you Akta. ❤

Amazing video with the collabs you did with the 3 other youtubers! I actually watched Lana Blakely's videos before finding your channel, so it was nice seeing you both collab! I'm gonna put myself out there more often now after watching this video!

0:17 It looks like you grew yourself significantly throughout the pandemic since in 2019 you were depressed

I relate so much to you, my entire life I felt like a side character in my own story, conforming to whatever circumstances I was dealt with and not putting in any effort to change them because it was what it was. I'm tired of living this way and that's part of the reason I started my YouTube channel that no one watches but that means a lot to me.

This is such a wholesome video. I'm watching this on New year's Eve and I'm so excited to hit the ground running tomorrow. I'm an aspiring YouTuber as well, and this video really resonated with me. Thanks Akta. 🤗

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve been battling with these thoughts for a long while too, and once I started uploading my own content all that anxiety and fear about being accepted or what will people think - just dissolved. Truth is, the sooner you make that jump the sooner you get to rid yourself from this unnecessary stress. No one truly cares indeed. Fantastic video Akta. Just subbed :)
