I am myself am a descendent of Poland colonies here in Brazil, at a point there was a city named "New Warsaw" here in the state of Paraná, but it was changed due to a nationalistic law that stated that every city must have a brazilian name.

Fun fact:
There was a project in the League of Nations to make Liberia a Polish mandate (kinda like a colony) to oversee the abolishment of slavery there. Liberia was even okay with the idea as the viewed Poland as less likely to just takeover as some other countries might and even granted Polish business preferential status.
Nothing came of the idea due to Amercian hostility to the idea and the lack of interest of the Polish governmnet who were much more concerned with the massive military build up of their neighbours.

Despite being in present-day Latvia, and despite being a vassal state of Poland-Lithuania, Courland should not be considered a Latvian state or a Polish state.

Courland did not view itself as an ethnically Latvian or an ethnically Polish state. If anything, Courland was a German state in the Baltics because German was the official language, its dukes were of the house of Kettler (a German family), and Courland was run by Baltic German nobility ruling over the majority Latvian-speaking peasants. Latvia and Estonia were not independent countries until 1918 and there respective languages were not official until then. Germans arrived in the Baltics with the conquest of the region by the Teutonic Knights in the 13th century. Thereafter, Baltic Germans were the ruling class of the region, first under the State of the Teutonic Knights and Terra Mariana, but later serving the Poles, Swedes, and Russians. In addition, as a vassal state, Courland could maintain its own feudal government, legal system, customs, while needing to pay tribute to the Polish-Lithuanian king. Courland was Lutheran and German as an official language and a lingua franca, while Poland-Lithuania proper was Catholic and had Polish as its official language.

Because of the above statements, it is inaccurate to say “Latvia had a colonial empire” or "Poles colonized the Gambia and Tobago". In a scenario where Poland-Lithuania was to have a colonial empire, it would be one where the Polish Lithuanian CROWN or central government funds expeditions and establishes overseas colonies, as opposed to one of its vassal states.

why it's so hard to put a name in google translate and have it read to you, so you can say it and it at least resembles the real pronunciation?

This is literaly wrong what this guy said in the video. The colonial merchantmen projects where from kurland and semgallen. They were like prussia vassals of the polish commonwealth. And the elites and people behind the project were germans who lived in kurland and semgallen and owned these colonies.
