I don't get why Stanleys ever became such a big trend in the first place. Its a cup. You buy it if you need a cup, you fill it, you drink out of it. Why did it become something that people desperately needed to own multiple of? Tiktok trends are so crazy

The fact that no one cares about Stanley Cups anymore is probably a good thing.

As much as I am happy the Stanley craze is dead, I am also pissed at the amount of cups that will evidently got into landfill and take up space in charity and second hand shops cause people don't understand the meaning of a reusable cup

My theories:
1) The whole "it contains lead" scandal scared away everyone
2) There weren't even that many collectors in the first place, only ppl who missed the first wave and felt left out, and by now all of them have a cup and errr, there are only so many cups normal people keep in their homes

Nevertheless, since it was originally camping gear, I don't think the brand will die, it will just go back to the quiet stagnation it had before.

you know whats the craziest thing about this? A few months ago, this 9 year old girl a few grades below me was always showing off her stanley, and now, shes hiding it from embarrasment of owning one.

Remember that kid who was bullied over not having this stupid cup and their mommy reinforced the bullies by rushing and buying her one? That girl is now probably bullied for HAVING this stupid cup

It’s crazy how a trend that can get people arrested has died so bad that people think having a Stanley cup is cringe now.

I'll say this: I'd rather target and starbucks are overly prepared for an item they think will be hyped and protect their employees, than for them to not prepare at all, resulting in employees and customers getting hurt, should the item actually be hyped.

I got a stanley for christmas because I appreciated how long it kept my stuff cold and I liked the logo, but people were getting confronted at school for owning them so I just stopped bringing it as I didn’t want to get involved, but now that this dumb trend is finally dying, I might start bringing it again ☠️

I remember going to my local Target in January and I wanted a Stanley cup because the only water bottle I've used since 2019 now had a giant hole in it(thanks to a damn rat) and I decided why the hell not I recently got my paycheck I might as well get a new cup so I went and I saw that the store itself was basically packed with people inside so I tried squeezing my way inside and asking one of the workers what was going on she told me "there's a Stanley cup craze" so I somehow managed to get one and I bought one and I left quickly and swiftly after showing the security guards my receipt and as I was leaving some woman stopped me by my car and desperately told me she'll give me 400$ for my cup because it was her daughter's birthday Now I could have dug into it a little more deeper probably wondering if it was a lie or not but I heard $400... I said show me the money and I'll show you the cup, and she took out her wallet faster than I could say cup and took out 4 100-dollar bills needless to say I was $400 richer that day and I just bought the Stanley cup at another place after that, I swear time goes by so fast that you don't even see these around my street anymore which is funny because it shows how fast trends die nowadays

I had the old type of Stanley because it actually worked very well keeping my coffee hot. Broke after a decade of use and can't find a good one yet

Why is it embarrassing for the store? They didn't know the turnout wouldn't be what it was before. It's good they took the appropriate precautions this time. I think they should do this every time just in case

It was inevitable. Eventually the craze over a metal hydroflask cup would end one way or another lmao

the way this whole CUP had people acting like some damn animals and fighting over it not even a few months ago and now it's "out of trend" and "not cool" is just comical! 😂😂

I'm happy about this. It's hilarious. I'm glad scalpers and resellers are getting effed.
Reminds me of this woman who bought up every hatchimal any time a store got a shipment, so people HAD to get it from her.
She overplayed her hand, and STILL has a ton of hatchimal she's selling for far less than what she bought them for.
I say she had it coming

the fact that just last month people were fighting over this cup, and now its suddenly just a tumbleweed

Now imagine all those resellers with stock they absolutely cannot move, and have a good giggle.

the fact that i went to target yesterday to pick up some things for my cats and the endless amount of the spring colored stanley’s was insane, isle after isle, shelf after shelf they were there🤦🏻‍♀️ the craze is finally over 🙏🏻

This shows how fast the world is moving, because I remember when things would be hype for years…
