Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways

In this video we are at our friends at The Severn Valley Railway on a beautiful Saturday of the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The reason for this visit was for a loco that was the centre of attention for the 2022 season Phil Swallow's rebuilt West Country Bulleid Pacific lightweight 34027 Taw Valley in The Platinum Jubilee lined purple livery to commemorate her Majesty The Queen's 70 years on the throne as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.

This was to be my last chance to get 34027 Taw Valley in action in the purple condition before eventually after The Autumn Steam Gala in September 2022 he will reacquire the BR Express Passenger lined green livery along with his true identity to see out the remaining 3 years left of his boiler ticket.

We have a ride behind Taw Valley for the northbound run to Bridgnorth the bulleid wasn't performing as hard as we last saw him due to the hot weather & caz of the risk despite the rain they had a few days prior to our visit.

Sure enough we arrive at Bridgnorth. During our layover we get to see for the 1st time since the repaint was completed The Hagley Hall Group's 4930 Hagley Hall fresh from being painted at Kidderminster Diesel Depot due to Bridgnorth MPD being closed to enable outside contractors to finish the renovation work.

Also was fresh from his loaded test runs a few days before our visit the 1st time he had hauled a rake of coaches since 1986.

Soon it was time to head back to Kidderminster behind 34027 Taw Valley & while on route we pass The SVR Pannier Tank's 7714 at Arley who was the other steam loco in action on this day.

We end at Kidderminster as we begun as we see 34027 run round.

However our day did not end there as on the same day in our bonus feature we see The Bahamas Locomotive Society's 45596 Bahamas work The Railway Touring Company's The Cotswold Venturer from London Paddington to Worcester & return via Sapperton Bank.

We see Bahamas at Ashchurch as she works the return leg from Worcester Shrub Hill in the early evening sun.

This resulted in my 1st filming of mainline steam south of Worcester since February 2019 when John Cameron's A4 60009 Union of South Africa worked this trip albeit at the time going via Honeybourne.

Unfortunately Bahamas didn't make it back to Paddington as the return run was terminated at Slough due to traction equipment problems.

Great seeing during the day of Ian Poole @IanPooleTransportHub & @crunchynutsteamfilms5043 go & check out their channels which the links are at the bottom of the description.

Thanks for reading enjoy the film

Great film, and glad you enjoyed your day out.
I keep on thinking of how I can find something complimentary to say about the colour - but I can't. TBH, I just hope it'll rain, and the paint will wash off to either Malachite or Brunswick, depending on which era.

I get why it was painted that awful colour Richard but not a fan to be honest and you missed history in the making yesterday with the fastest ever run over Shap by 35018 🤔
