she drowned them bc her husband cheated on her, she felt Jealous, sad and angry. she drowned her children in a creek? anyways- if you are near a river/creek or anything, if you hear a woman cry from far. That means she near, if you hear the cry from the near. that means she's far away

When I was little I used to live in Mexico and I heard la Liorona

She’s a real legend she roams the rivers searching for her kids(she says mis niños meaning my kids)because she drowned her kids but then drowned herself after realising her mistake and if you hear her cries you suffer misfortune or death and become unsuccessful but also if you hear loud cries(cries that are close)she’s very far away but if you hear FAR and quiet cries she’s a lot closer than you think but she stays by the river so if you hear her just don’t go by a river at night(past sunset)

No the story is she was a pretty lady and she took her two boys uot and she said it was time to go home and they were fighting so she turned around and started walking away until everything went quiet so she turned around and they were gone so she jumped in the lake to look for them and drowned herself now she goes around crying misicose and looks for kid boys and tryn to find her sons
