Gibson Les Paul 50s Standard and how we saved money...

We bought a Les Paul Standard that had to rival my Gold top in terms of playability and tone. But it also had be 'all over' Ebony in colour and we also had a strict budget to work to.
The search started and we found the ideal guitar, but how did the purchase go and did the guitar hit the requirements that we had set out to achieve.
