In abstract terms, a business case is a communication tool that reflects on the Iceberg model of change. Our aims are relevance, transparency, clarity and focus. But there is an important condition: what is it that we are trying to change? So my next rhetoric question is: can we have a business case without a business plan (the top left What)? One of the strategic decisions of every business plan should be to develop/grow business acumen i.e. engagement and inclusion or mojo. In the Iceberg model of change the middle element i.e. the business structure (business layers, business connections) is where the bottom-up meets the top-down, or where the abstract meets the actual. An important business case will affect the business structure. "How to write a business case" is a way of thinkink that forces you to put a cart in front of a horse. It gjves you a drivers license but you don't have a roadmap.

What is missing here, and should be it's own chapter: What need / problem do you adress and for whom? How did you validate it?
I would not invest in any business that cannot answer these questions.

This looks interesting at first sight but when you analyze it in details it looks too general. All depending on the project the business cases are very different from each other and they usually are much simpler.
