The Digitakt II looks great, but there's still a lot to love from the original... especially with the dropped price on the used market :)

I love my OG digitakt but man I need the extra 4 bars for my trance melodies! And i need more ram! Making a live set on the OG gets full too quick!
Plus the crazy sounds you can make on your many synths gets dulled down when sampling it to mono. Those are my 3 main issues!

I returned my digitakt 2, I prefer the OG. The workflow is faster and I prefer working my drums in mono, the sound seems clearer. I don't understand why Elektron didn't keep some tracks in mono, others in stereo. Working with kicks in stereo makes no sense.

Great video. My advice, stay away from the circuit Rhythm, it was updated once and remains woefully incomplete compared to most other samplers. Novation dropped the ball hard with that thing, and it had SO much potential. A good alternative, the Sonicware SmplTrek or lofi-XT. They may not have the sex appeal of the digitakt, but they do have polyphony! Scales! Song mode! 128 steps Battery powered! Resampling and ok-ish fx. Stereo on the SmplTrek (I think), and a d-pad. That would be my portable sampler of choice to buy if I didn't go all in on the 404 already.
