I would pick the Calibre F-16. Even though I personally would not mess with the different configurations I do like the better details the the Calibre F-16 has.

Awesome review and model! I recently bought the 2 seater HAF version if Calibre's F16 as well as the "Be-Devilers" F14 A (weathered version) which are my first 2 Calibre Wings models. They are amazing. Very tempted to add one of their Fencers to my collection in the future.

I think one thing that Hobby Master has other than the price point - which lets be honest is still pretty high (coming from someone whos built a VR simpit for military flight simming) - is the variety. The Calibre Wings whilst really detailed are quite limited at the moment whereas Hobby Master cover so many liveries etc. I've just ordered the Hobby Master 50year YGBSM Wild Weasel F16 from ebay, the price was pretty high, probably matching the Calibre Wings actually, but the livery speaks out to me since wild weasling in the F16 is so iconic. Maybe in the future with economies of scale etc Calibre Wing prices can come down slightly and they can produce a more varied set of liveries

Actually I don't really like F-16 but I know enough about this plane because when I was a kid I used it in Ace Combat and also my national army has quite a lot of F-16. Calibre Wings is amazing, the details are amazing makes me want to see it closer, actually I like the Su-57 plane from Hobby Master but if this Calibre Wings pre-order together with the Su-57 I think I will take this F-16

I own both models as well and just assembled my Calibre Wings F-16 this evening. I agree with your analysis as to the economics of both models. I can honestly say I really like the CalWings Viper. My only complaint would be the stabilizers. They are a little floppy and would've preferred they were just fixed with the proper dihedral. But, yes, the main reason for me to buy this was for the display options and I took full advantage of them and they look great. However, this is somewhat of a 'novelty' and may not be a necessary reason to purchase future releases. Frankly today it would have to take them issuing a really great scheme for me to consider buying another. Which is why I bought the HM South Dakota model. BTW, thank you for your service!

I personally believe the hobby master f16 is closer to the correct shape i feel the nose on the calibre is a little long. The darker grey should also come further forward on the fuselage. Both very nice though

The engine nozzle and pilot figure alone is worth the extra price for me.
