“A smart man knows how to deal with every situation. A wise man knows when a situation should be handled without him.”

Stepping down when you're not the one for the job is the mark of a true professional and in this case shows more empathy then if House had stayed.

You have to hand it to house. He knew exactly that he is not the right doctor here (even though he was but thats just a thing)

He was ironically that right doctor as she specifically requested him for comfort

She acted that like a pro.
Almost like she was that patient.

House can be an ass cause he's an honest ass even he knows when to back off

House realized in zero flat with the "dont touch me" response from the victim. Calm, collected, and once the realization hit, he knew right away that the best decision he could make was have another physician take the charge.

He knows when to be himself, when to back off, and when to genuinely just help out without being snarky. What a great character.

One of the few times House shows actual empathy.

Awesome to see that acknowledging moment that house knew his methods were null in void

Dude. This makes sense, I'd imagine people who've suffered assault would react this way.

That showed a very important part of house character. He has empathy. He just choose to not use it when he thinks it is unfit so solve the problem.

The fact that he knew what happened and knew that he wasn't the right fit because of situation shows deep down he does care

Love or hate house, at least he knew from that alone what happened to her and that she needed someone kinder and more sensative to help her

I kind of wish House was my doctor who examined me after my SA instead of the woman who did. I know having to work at 8pm sucked but telling me that my case was a “he said she said” case AND acting like she was doing me a favor to examine me… I am still messed up by her. All of the women in my case failed me. After all of these years, it still haunts me.

One of the best episodes of the show, personally for me.

I remember when I was sexually assaulted by 2 men during the first “let up” of COVID in June 2020, when restrictions started to wane. I was drugged at a restaurant, taken to a house, and assaulted, I had bite marks and bruises all over. The officer that stayed with me in the ER was a young man, probably younger than me by at least 5-6 years, who was very kind and respectful. Didn’t talk unless he had to, didn’t touch me. The nurses took pictures of the injuries, and he stayed in the room but looked away when needed. He never touched his phone, was just acting in a professional, strong presence to help me feel safe but at the same time, he took the situation seriously. I never learned his name, but I still appreciate his work during that day.

That moment you see him just go "sh*t."
