This plant breeding lecture explains about the process of marker assisted selection process in details. Marker assisted selection is a technique by which plants are selected based on molecule or markers using quantitative trait loci which are specific genes present in plant cell providing some measurable expression. Marker assisted selection is more advantageous compared with the traditional plant breeding techniques. In this lecture I will also talk about the advantages and disadvantages of marker assisted selection.
