Endeavor saves All Might - Boku No Hero Academia

I believe Endeavor hero name is a reflection of the motto, "if you put enough effort, you can accomplish anything in life". He always wanted to reach the number 1 spot and worked hard to rise in the hero ranks. But when he reached decades ago the n°2 spot, he realized how far he was from All Might. Later, he came to believe that no matter how hard he tried, the gap between him and All Might was widening year after year and despaired. It was at that moment that his goal of reaching the n°1 spot and surpass All Might turned into an obsession that drove all his decisions in life.

This scene is so powerful because now he sees with his very eyes that All Might wasn't a perfect & unreachable god all this time, he was just a regular being with flaws. That shock makes him reflect on how his now awful obsession ruined his family.

This scene is the moment when his path for redemption began

I just love Endeavor's reaction to Allmight's true form. After all those years, and after terrorising your family, laying a hand on your wife, basically making your child a weapon, and all this just to surpass your rival, who is currently looks like a naked skeleton...Daym.

It actually shows that even in the end, when Endevaour always wanted to surpass Allmight, he still courages him and wishes for his victory. Goes to show that his heart still hasn’t completely burned away.

When you think about it, Allmights and Endevaours relationship has to be a lot like Midoriya’s and Bakugou’s.

I find it hilarious that there are so many fanfics by Endeavor detractors that have him plotting to kill All Might. Nevermind that scenes like these clearly show that while Enji clashed with Toshinori personality-wise and he wanted to take his position, he held no personal ill will against him and still respected him as a competent Hero.

Endeavor's ambition drove him to despair. At some point he realized he will never surpass All Might, let alone be his equal and yet he's still giving everything he's got to reach his own pinnacle heights.

In the manga theres an endeavor arc and its about his regret and obsession. And looking back on this scene it foreshadows it, and its pretty sad to watch.
