Inside A 100 Year Old Schoolhouse

My mother taught in a one room school house. It was located near my father's homestead. They met dated and got married. Celebrated 57 years together and had 5 children.

If you’re ever in the area a few miles north of Carthage MO there is a town called Red Oak II. The man who owns it took a bunch of historic buildings and moved them creating this town. Every building has been restored and no cars are allowed..you have to walk it -some people actually live there too. It’s amazing and free to visit and walk around

This was is an amazing piece of history!! Here in Ohio we have a place called Hale Farm and Village and we always went there on school field trips. The old school house was so amazing. Thank you for this. I really enjoyed this. 😊❤️

There's a museum here in Oklahoma that has a schoolhouse on its property. They will open it up to local school kids for field trips, so they know what it was like to go to class back then. My kid went with their class - said it was hot inside, but very pretty.

My mom went to school in a School House similar to this one. It is still standing in Bardstown Kentucky!!!!

There is one similar to this in Old Town Sacramento, CA that I have visited. There is also one in Forbestown, CA. that is smaller, but still fun and charming to see, especially since it is a recreation of a tiny boom town from the gold rush that is surrounding a museum.
