In my opinion fast rising real estate prices have been going on for so long that they are the norm now, and any change would be out of the norm.

I think we need to ask, what would the catalyst be for home prices dropping? remote work is now common, lumber prices are still rising, there is a housing shortage, and crowded locations are becoming more crowded. Unless there is a massive wave of homeowners selling due to financial issues, I wouldn't hold my breath for a crash happening in upcoming years. I would think that prices are rising to a new normal, unfortunately. which is slowly going to screw over any young adults who don't purchase rapidly.
